Mother Earth knows best: Help plant more trees when you buy or sell with Offerpad

From blooming flowers to fresh-cut grass, Mother Earth plays a vital part in making our communities flourish. At Offerpad, we love the color orange, but our commitment to green is equally strong. That’s why this Earth Day we wanted to do something a little extra to help keep it a great place to call home.  

Offerpad is always striving to make the communities we operate in stronger, cleaner and more vibrant places to live. That’s why in celebration of Earth Day 2022, we’ve become an official tree-planting partner with the National Forest Foundation (NFF). Throughout the remainder of this year, the NFF will plant a tree for every home Offerpad buys or sells as part of the nonprofit organization’s 50 Million for Our Forests campaign. In 2021, we bought over 9,000 homes and sold more than 6,000 so, potentially, that’s a LOT of trees! 

Which will really help the NFF’s reforestation efforts. They estimate there are more than 1 million acres of publicly-owned forests and grasslands that can use our help.¹ Did you know that reforestation not only helps re-establish forest cover but also improves the earth’s natural air filter?² As trees grow and consume air, they remove harmful pollutants from our atmosphere.³ One hundred trees can remove 430 pounds of air pollutants annually!⁴

And that’s not all. National forests are an important part of life for many homeowners and local communities, providing endless opportunities to enjoy nature and stay active. According to the NFF, 7 out of 10 Americans live within a 2-hour drive from a National Forest, and restoration helps improve the quality of recreational activities for more than 160 million visitors per year.⁴

We’re celebrating Earth Day 2022 on a local level, too. In addition to teaming up with the NFF, we’ve partnered with the City of Chandler to adopt a local park near our headquarters in Chandler, Arizona. Over the next year, our employees and their families can use company-paid volunteer hours to pitch in and help keep the park clean.
