Meet the Robinsons: Why one family chose a new approach to selling

Meet the Robinson family. After twenty years in their home, Kendra and Erich wrestled with the difficult decision to sell it. That kind of history with a home generally raises questions about the future: was this the neighborhood Kendra and Erich imagined living the next ten years? Looking for a fresh start in a new neighborhood — wanting to be closer to work and church — the couple eventually determined it was time to sell, raising one even bigger question: where to start?

This wasn’t the Robinsons first experience as sellers. Kendra and Erich had previously sold their home when they initially moved to Texas, but that was over twenty years ago. The market had changed significantly since then — even equipped with that experience, selling brought entirely new challenges.

As with so many homeowners entertaining the possibility of resettlement, the Robinsons were confronted with the uncertainty of aligning different closing dates. The last thing they wanted to do was endure multiple moves or the expense of overlapping mortgages. Seeking a modern solution, Kendra and Erich were inevitably introduced to Offerpad.

As Erich tells it, “We actually did a search for another company we were familiar within our area. Expanding on his and Kendra’s decision to sell to Offerpad, Erich said, “We had made a lot of significant upgrades in the last 5 years or so. Remodeled the kitchen, both bathrooms, added a double pergola and back porch… all items that Offerpad made note of in their offer while it didn’t seem like the other company had.” Presented with a better return, the couple felt confident about their decision to sell their greatest investment.

Kendra and Erich’s home sold in a matter of days with Offerpad. The quick resolution allowed them to forego much of the hassle baked into a traditional home sale; owners of two large dogs, the Robinsons were relieved they never had to deal with the logistics of regular home showings.
