Spicy Southwestern steak
First up is for you carnivores that enjoy a nice little kick of spicy flavor on your palate. To make this spicy southwestern style dish, you’ll need a large-sized non-stick skillet, your choice of steak, and we’ll be sizzling it on the stovetop. Start by rubbing the spices onto the steak, make sure you do both sides for maximum flavor coverage. Then, turn the burner to medium-high temperature with a tablespoon of vegetable oil in the center of the pan and once the oil starts to pop from the heat, gently place the steak in the center. In 1-2 minutes, check the underside of the steak to make sure it’s getting seared to perfection. Once it chars, flip the steak over to char both sides on high heat. Once both sides are light char blackened, flip the steak back over and turn the heat down to medium, then continue to flip the steak every two minutes to maintain even cooking on both sides. The steak should cook all the way through within 10 minutes or so, but this all depends on if you prefer rare, medium or well-done.
PRO TIP: We suggest using tongs and not a fork. If you pierce the steak with a fork or knife, the juices will not be locked inside, they may seep out of the holes and your spicy southwestern steak can lose flavor.”
