Keeping up with Laura Workman

Laura Workman moved to Arizona four years ago with her father and daughter, to escape the harsh winters of Ohio. While they were thrilled to purchase a four-bedroom home in a thriving Phoenix suburb, within two years, their needs had drastically changed. Laura’s commute increased to more than 45 minutes and her daughter moved away from home, leaving Laura and her father more home than they needed.

When she noticed a condo for sale in Scottsdale that suited her commute and her lifestyle, Laura knew she’d found her new home—it also meant she’d need to sell her existing home quickly.

We recently caught up with Laura to find out how life is after the move; and how Offerpad helped make the entire process from—from offer to close—an easy one.

OP: What do you do for a living?

LW: “I’m a sales associate with Taylor Morrison.”

OP: What do you like best about your new home?

LW: “I feel so blessed. It’s like we are living in a resort. It’s the coolest thing. My dad doesn’t have a car, so when we lived in Anthem, he felt trapped. Here in Scottsdale, he can bike or walk across the street and there are tons of shopping and restaurants.”

OP: How many times have you moved?

LW: “Too many to count!”

OP: Why did you choose to sell through Offerpad?

LW: “At the time we were considering selling our house, we saw there was a three-bedroom condominium in Scottsdale that we loved. We knew we’d have to make a move fast. It was amazing how quickly the decision was made and how fast the move went. If we had gone the traditional route, we would have had to fix up the house and have open houses and we still wouldn’t know for sure when it would sell. And once it did, would there still have been a three-bedroom in this condo community? For us, Offerpad was the perfect solution.”

OP: How does the Offerpad experience compare to that of your previous experiences?

LW: “It’s the best, hands down. Working with Offerpad, I knew it was locked in—the house was sold. It was very reassuring and took a lot of the anxiety away. I also used Offerpad’s Free Local Move program and it was the easiest experience I have ever had. It was one less thing I had to think about. I didn’t even have to pay for it.”

OP: What advice would you give to someone getting ready to sell their home?

LW: “At Taylor Morrison, I sell new homes and I often have people come in with the dilemma of wanting to buy a new home or wanting to build one, but they have to sell their current home first and feel stuck. Offerpad is the perfect solution. Once they purchase your home, it’s a done deal. You don’t have to worry about the deal unraveling, which allows you to be able to focus on other things. Why would you want to go through the headache of the normal route?”
